Mark Jimenez is a populist, a believer in the political ideology that the masses are being exploited by a privileged elite. Click here to read more about the man behind the name.
I dont see why the author of this article rants for that 11-year old prostitute. Jalosjos was in fact the one who must seek justice for being accused of “raping a prostitute”.
That trial was merely political.

Excuse me, sir, do you have an 11-year old daughter? Would you mind if we let someone rape her?
It appalls me how INSENSITIVE some people are. Especially you, sir.
Do you think Rosilyn had a choice? Don’t you see how grave her situation is? Not only was her own STEPFATHER pimping her like she was some toy, she had to be molested and raped by a dirty old man AGAINST HER WILL. And not just once but PLENTY of times.
Just because she was being SOLD to Jalosjos does not in any way justify what Jalosjos did! Rape– and rape of a MINOR at that!– is DOWNRIGHT EVIL! Where is your sense of morality? You would go as far as saying Jalosjos is the victim when he CLEARLY IS AT FAULT BECAUSE WHAT HE DID WAS TERRIBLY WRONG!
You say this was a political case? Explain to me how a rapist managed to win countless appeals despite already being CONVICTED and explain to me how a rapist was able to run for a SECOND TERM and explain to me how a rapist is now gunning for ABSOLUTE PARDON from the President herself! That is clearly the work of politics! Politics not of governance but of corrupt deal-making and greed!

People like YOU and VILLAR, GIBO and ERAP who CONDONE EVIL should rightfully burn in hell.

@makata,
How could you accuse a minor of prostitution? An eleven year old child who could have easily been your daughter or your sister. Even though she had prior sexual history, she, under child protection laws are not liable for them. She should have been protected and not persecuted.
This is a black and white issue, this man raped a child. The case is statutory rape. The man was convicted TO TWO LIFE SENTENCES AND MORE THAN A HUNDRED YEARS OF JAIL TIME.
FOR HOW LONG DID THIS MAN STAY IN PRISON. 13 YEARS AND FIVE MONTHS AND FIFTEEN DAYS (DECEMBER 1997 TO MARCH 19 2009). And I don’t think that you know that prior to his recent release last March, Jalosjos was freed in DECEMBER 22, 2007. (Though he was again placed under custody the next day in San Ramon Prison and Local Penal Farm Colony).
In MAY 1998, JALOSJOS WINS HIS SECOND TERM. While in prison, AFTER BEING CONVICTED FOR RAPE.
WHAT IS TRULY A POLITICAL ISSUE IS HOW JALOSJOS GOT OUT OF JAIL. HOW? A WOMAN PRESIDENT NAMED GLORIA MACAPAGAL ARROYO AWARDED HIS PARDON. OURS IS NOW THE FIRST CATHOLIC COUNTRY IN ASIA TO HAVE PARDONED A RAPIST. A CRIME THAT HAS BEEN PUNISHABLE BY DEATH HAS BEEN COMMUTED TO A MERE 13 YEARS AND FIVE MONTHS.
On SEPTEMBER 30, 2009, JALOSJOS APPLIED FOR AN ABSOLUTE PARDON. And as of October 22 2009, the case has been transferred from the office of the president to the BOARD OF PARDONS AND PAROLE. IF PARDONED, JALOSJOS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS WILL BE RESTORED, INCLUDING HIS RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE. WHICH MEANS HE WILL AGAIN BE ABLE TO VOTE AND/OR RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE. HE IS EVEN PLANNING TO RUN FOR THE MAY ELECTIONS.
Perhaps another political issue is who should be responsible.
What is being raised here is a comparison of treatments of two (former) congressmen: the strangely swift removal of Jimenez from the roster of congress and Jalosjos’ seven year stay (HIS SECOND TERM WAS SPENT IN PRISON) in congress (DESPITE BEING CONVICTED OF RAPE), the seeming sameness of their expulsions professes an inequality of judicial process. A travesty of justice.
My point is that:
YOU SHOULD STICK TO THE FACTS, YOU PRETENTIOUS, TWO-LINING UNPOETIC.
mmmm. I agree with “seed”. though I find bitching about it practically useless, since most of our cries and pleas are easily neglected by the bigger issue of “THE ELECTION”. Oh! where was I?? The candidacy reeks of the stench of political propaganda. give them a knife amongst themselves and they will cut each others throat. Sad.. but definitely true.. The real question now is which amongst these plunderer (ERAP), cowards (******), weak and easily manipulated (cough cough Noynoy cough cough), detestable candidates you are willing to put into THE office? I will say no more in these topics lest I tempt flames ^^.. anywho. life isn’t fair.. deal with it

Indeed, that article suffices to strengthen my belief that Mark Jimenez is a good man. Upon reading and re-reading the article courtesy of the link you posted, I am certain that PCIJ has literally made a “marked man” out of Jimenez in that they have made him the prime target of scandalization and sensationalization, two acts that bring shame to PCIJ’s otherwise respectable journalistic name. They have made use of their extensive investigative powers to come up with facts about Jimenez, but they merely peppered these facts into a mixture of biased hogwash. Their negative slant against Jimenez is so glaringly obvious; they have managed to belittle his achievements, magnify his mistakes, and overall make a clownish presentation out of his highly esteemed character.
PCIJ deliberately aimed to destroy Jimenez’s good name. I wonder who paid them.
What this website reveals about the media is true, as exemplified by that article. Instead of reportage, they put out garbage. They presented nothing but character demonization. If you read very carefully, and I suggest that you do, you’ll see what I mean. Here are some instances to guide you:
1.) They made mention of Jimenez’s unconventional way of meeting guests in his house– that he meets them in his pajamas. PCIJ turned this trait of humility into something ugly, as if it were utterly horrible to be down-to-earth when you receive guests. Isn’t this just a sign that Jimenez is far from superficial, as he sees no need to show off his wealth and status through expensive suits and shoes? Isn’t this an indicator that Jimenez is a welcoming host, and that he wants his guests to feel at home in his home? What PCIJ did was state this as if it were something shameful instead of showing that Jimenez is unlike other snobby rich men.
2.) The structure of the article is imbalanced: they put more weight on Jimenez’s mistakes– mistakes he has admitted, voluntarily surrendered himself for, and served time in prison for– while they made a mere footnote out of his philanthropic side. PCIJ failed to stress the importance of Jimenez’s giving nature, and instead constructed Jimenez to seem as if he was nothing but a criminal.
Moreover, they mangled Jimenez’s good traits and made it appear that these traits were evil. Through sheer and shameful manipulation, they turned Jimenez’s generosity into greed; they called him a “con artist” when in fact he really is a business genius– a very talented man who supersedes even foreign counterparts in terms of corporate know-how. How truly evil of PCIJ to make a man look bad using his own positive traits! That sounds more like the devil’s doing instead of a journalist’s job.
3.) They did not explain the true nature of Jimenez’s extradition. They meagerly stated that Jimenez was wanted in America simply because he was a “bad man.” There was no explanation over how Jimenez was caught in between the age-old rift between Democrats and Republicans. Jimenez’s case was politically motivated in that it was the Republican Party’s way of getting back at the Democrats. Jimenez, after all, made no effort to conceal that he was an avid supporter of the Democrats. The big picture elucidates that Jimenez was indeed harassed for helping the Democrats. He was pinned down deliberately for this cause.
4.) But Jimenez said so himself– he made a mistake. He contributed too much to the Democratic cause, and in doing do, he overstepped tax policies in line with the contributions. PCIJ mentions this in passing and instead drums up the distaste for Jimenez by continuously branding him a criminal. They even tagged his association with important Latin American leaders as a linkage to Latin American drug lords. Does that make honest sense? Just because someone is powerful does not mean he is involved in drugs! And the article did mention that Jimenez was not a participant in any illegal drug-trafficking activity– so WHY bring up and build up the hype about drugs at all? See what I mean about character assassination?
5.) PCIJ also extensively made use of Jimenez’s association with Estrada to discredit him. It is undeniable that the two were friends; Estrada looked up to Jimenez for his corporate skills. Jimenez advised Erap on market valuation and market value did improve upon Jimenez’s suggestions. What PCIJ fails to mention is that Erap’s other “friends” were the power-hungry ones. Their wolf cages were rattled when Jimenez stepped into the picture because he was a threat to them. Because of Jimenez, they were no longer able to score the “deals” Erap had previously promised them. Take for example JV Ejercito himself and the Bingo deal. Being such a sourpuss, he spread an e-mail stating that Jimenez was a “con artist” just because he lost his cut in the Bingo deal. JV did apologize to Jimenez after this– a clear indication that he really was just jealous and he wanted to take Jimenez down because of this.
Besides, if Jimenez truly was a corrupt man as he has been called, why has there been no actual case of plunder filed against him? Where is the proof? Erap and Jimenez’s friendship turned sour because Erap was the corrupt one. And Erap was convicted for that.
That PCIJ article skillfully and sinisterly abused facts to create a negative slant against Jimenez. We must all be wary of media manipulation. Just because a distinguished entity such as PCIJ is reporting does not mean their principles can’t be bought, and that their news reports are not tainted. Take a look at the article again. Don’t you hear the hateful undertones? Can’t you taste the malicious intent to malign a man?
Journalism in this country is all about taking sides. The appearance of objectivity is only an appearance. Learn to dig deeper than the surface and you’ll grasp what I mean about taking sides. Clearly, PCIJ was against Jimenez. They should be thankful Jimenez did not file charges against them.
if a candidate is supported by swines and alligators most likely he will become a swine and alligator. a pinoy trait ” ang utang na loob” if he a candidate is elected into office and will live in a pig pen with pig shit and feeds all around, most likely he will lie and sleep together with the swines and eat like a swine. be careful of those candidates where they are affiliated. it is a common knowledge that those pigs and alligators want their share in the pig pen. now if candidates are extremely rich and promise to the people that they will not steal because they were once poor,this is a cliche. nothing can satisfy a hungry candidate, no amount of money, power and position can ever satisfy an egocentric candidate. service above oneself and a men of class is what we need COURAGE, LOYALTY, ASSERTIVESS, SELF CONTROL AND STRENGTH. this is a candidate who will choose service without counting the cost. – seems impossible but choose the lesser evil. if one has no track record of achievements. we filipinos are not activity and achievement drive ppl. we know what we need to elevate or living and to boost our moral for good leaders who cannot be tainted by any form of corruption, ability will follow. for sure one will be challenged if ever an inexperienced candidate will win. look at people who has not ability but yet have the big heart, they rise like an eagle and they put those who are “learned” intelligent into humiliation. come to think of it
hehe hmmmm pareho lang sila lahat!! lol
well, first and foremost, id like to share a story on how man became a man… in genesis,there were two man present,adam and eve.. the content of this book talked about the SINS of these 2. now,id like to ask someone who post this “political strategy-nice-to-know thing” if you had committed a single sin??
nobody is perfect as the saying goes…
now, you are pointing out 3 presidentiables of this coming election. these 3 presidentiables belong to the top 4 as far as surveys are concern. your rooster is on top and your having this “black propaganda” of the following 3. my point is, how the he*k this publication is?what are you trying to say? your rooster and the rest besides those three never committed even a single mistake??
tiger woods is the most richest athlete in the world today, not because of his talent in golf but because of his advertisements..now,when he was found having a sexual relationship besides his wife, advertisements were pulled out.. in the philippines, “PI” umamin na nga na mey STD,ngkaroon pa ng maraming advertisements.. wow!!!now,if there could be a publication such as”NOYNOY, the brother of an STD victim”??ayus bah??
mistakes, negligence of the first act, failures are ways to success.. they learned from their mistakes.. alangan naman kasi na sabihin ni manny villar sa kanyang pagpapakilala na “sorry,i backed up with an 11 year old child rapist, sorry po..or gibo etc..
bata pa lang si manny,gusto na maging president..si noynoy, wlang pangarap..he wont even face to cameras and talk eye to eye sa mga nakikinig sa kanya.. he became known because of his parents. RIP po.. the rest made them known because of their hardships..

@kinghumba,
so ibig mo sabihin yung C5 road (controversy) ay isang mistake/failure that will lead us to success…what a crap! its true that u learn from your mistakes/failures…u can learn it from a friend or from ur family pero kung ang pinag-uusapan kapakanan ng bayan sa tingin mo you need to wait for that mistake/failure first before you will learn?
Reposting a very important point!
If you would think about it–and think intelligently–most of the presidential candidates have been in the government occupying substantial positions for years. They are those who could have done something to really make the government one for the people. And yet, filipinos’ standard of living has continuously gone down to rock bottom–not to mention those on the streets stripped down to nothing and have been reduced to mere existence.
Why is it then that these traditional politicians did not do anything despite the fact that they have already been part of the government for years?
And now, they would try to fool us with their visions of a wealthy nation and a good life as if they are asking to “SERVE” the filipino people for the first time!
It pains me when politicians like them try to insult the intelligence of the filipino people.
Well thanks for the information. Information like these to me are very useful to make intelligent choices. But “intelligent choices”, we have maybe 60-70 percent below that margin who are too poor, uneducated or don’t have the means (like I get on my computer and I find this) to learn these things. I hope theres’ a chance to reach that percentage (the percentage that likes Judy Ann, Erap, all those silly repetitive non-stop soap operas, and all them actors and actresses that gets voted just because their names are familiar – with respect to those who truly have the qualifications) but you know what I mean. That percentage hopefully can be reached by people who put this information up, so we all can vote the lesser of the evils.

@katy,
Exactly, people need to get informed, all classes of people. From jeepney driver to tycoon. The problem is, the tycoon already knows all this information because the people involved are his golfing buddies. hahaha.
Jimenez was going to tax the rich. In the faq section it was said that before was sent out of congress, he was making a bill that was going to tax the rich properly. The timing is absolutely suspicious, and the process of his dismissal was also suspiciously speedy. And before that, he authored a money laundering bill. He was bringing about changes, he was addressing the root problem of Philippine governance: that the money from the rich does not trickle down to the poor. Look at areas like Ayala and the Fort, look at the infrastructure in NAIA. Where did all that money go? All those investments?

If we voters include education, political track record and personality in our criteria of considering which candidate to vote for, why not also deliberate based on the morals the candidate exhibits? Just because someone is “masipag at matiyaga” or “magaling at matalino” does not readily translate to a competent leader. Our politicians must also lead us into the path of decency. Sparing a rapist to protect one’s political alliance is NOT something a good leader or any good person will do!

it’s not about the country why we are so poor.. it’s about the people if the person in our government are not corrupt we are not like this.. if you bring them to other country they will be like us.. the people in our government need discipline a lot of people in our country eat only once a day but the people in our government eat as many as they could. we need a good and great president and i say it erap.. gibo is good but the dwarf holds him.. erap is for mahihirap if he is corrupt why san juan is very beautiful and the people in his city loves him so much.. think about it people
@Bigbang,
